brecon beacons
Established in 1957 the National Park covers 1344 km² and includes the highest point in southern Britain - Pen Y Fan at 886m. A fascinating mix of geology has helped shaped the mountains along with the marks that man has left over thousands of years. Here you'll find lakes, waterfalls, caves, forests, valleys and wide open hillsides. It is a remarkably diverse landscape and one that is a joy to explore.
In the Brecon Beacons we run guided walks covering Prehistory and Roman, Industrial Heritage, General History, and Aircraft Crash Sites. We also offer our Introductory Hill Skills and Navigation courses.
